THE ROCK'N'ROLL ALLSTARS - Specialising in great dancing music

John started playing music in the mid sixties, and toured extensively through England and Europe with "Johns Followers", including residencies at popular clubs in Zurich and Milan.   Also several recording sessions.
 
 
After a break,  John got back into music in the late eighties and had 12 very busy years with Sax Appeal. Including recording the  c.d.
"Just Did It"
 
 
Another  break  was followed by the formation of THE ROCK'N'ROLL ALLSTARS which evolved from a few different attempts to get a band together. Eventually the current line up came together and John once again has a band of very talented musicians working together and having fun.

Rob started playing drums at age 13 and paid his dues playing with a number of local bands including The High Revving Tongues. After getting  a gig on a cruise ship he then toured extensively in Australia including playing ski resorts and clubs. After a few years off he is now back playing and loving it.

Michael was born  in Waiuku. After seeing  The Beatles perform on television in the sixties he was hooked on "popular music". Soon afterwards he started learning Bass guitar and also about this time saw ex drummer Graham on a tv show.He has played in various bands around Auckland since the early 70's.

He met John in 1986 and persuaded him to get up and sing a couple of songs with the band he was playing with at that time "The Waiters"  Chris Ampleford was also in The Waiters at that time so  it was all meant to be.

Chris brings some great talent to  THE ROCK'N'ROLL ALLSTARS.
 He has also been playing in bands around Auckland and in Australia since the 70's. His guitar playing is admired by many. From the clean sound of  The  Shadows to the bluesy sound of Clapton Chris does it all with ease. His skill on the Keyboard adds another dimension to the band and he swaps between the two with seemingly little effort. Chris also does great vocals as well and always fills the dance floor with his rendition of  "Dance The Night Away"
 

 
 
So there you have it four talented individuals who blend together and play great music that never fails  to get the crowd dancing and singing along.
